Image
Hello Everyone! Today, I am going to ask you something. If you had the power to change three things in the world, what will they be? Below are my responses. What three things would YOU like to change? 1. I would like that all endangered animals get saved 2. I would like to have everybody follow safety rules for COVID-19, the world needs to get better 3. How to Make A Chocolate Cake!

Image
Hello Everyone! Today, I am going to explain how to make a chocolate cake. I learned this from Hershey's, so the information is from there. I baked it and it tastes great, so I recommend it to you! You Will Need: 2 cups sugar 1-3/4 cups all-purpose flour 3/4 cup HERSHEY'S Cocoa 1-1/2 teaspoons baking powder 1-1/2 teaspoons baking soda 1 teaspoon salt 2 eggs 1 cup milk 1/2 cup vegetable oil 2 teaspoons vanilla extract 1 cup boiling water Be sure to get the exact measures. 1. Heat oven to 350°F. Grease and flour two of 9-inch round baking pans 2. Then, you want to stir together sugar, flour, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda and salt in large bowl (glass bowl recommended). Add eggs, milk, oil and vanilla; beat on medium speed of mixer 2 minutes. Stir in boiling water (batter will be thin). Pour batter into prepared pans.  3. Afterwards, bake 30 to 35 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes; remove from pans to wire racks. Cool completely. ...

Times Magazine Cover

Image
Hello Everyone! When I picked up the mail yesterday from my mailbox, I received a TIMES magazine with an interesting cover. Below is a picture of the same cover I saw (except I got it from the web). When I saw it, I stopped and thought about it for a minute. I realized that starting from February 29, it shows 1 death till September 8, 445 deaths. I saw some huge numbers while looking at this. It is because of this dreadful virus, COVID-19. You see that big number in white font: 2000,000. They even had space for a comma. I am guessing that is the number is the number of deaths in total. What do you think about this picture? Did you expect the deaths in America to get this bad? ~Aarushi Gupta   5th Grade

Ice Cream VS. Cake

Hello Everyone! Today, I am going to do a small debate on ice cream vs. cake. Which one do you like better. If you need some help, look at some of my points below. Ice cream cold flavors put in a waffle cone/bowl Cake not so cold many flavors good shops  celebrate on a birthday      I honestly like cake better than ice cream, because cake has more flavors and different layers. There are good cake shops near my area, so they taste good! You can also bake a cake, but it is rare to make ice cream. Also, you can celebrate with cake on your birthday party, and customize it! (But you can't with ice cream!) I honestly like cake better! GO CAKE! ~Aarushi Gupta  5th Grade

Labor Weekend!

Hello Everyone! How was your long weekend? Did you do anything fun? Did you play something? I did not write for the last couple of days because of Labor Day? Well, what does Labor day mean? Let's break it apart.  Labor means doing handwork, something that does not work by a machine. (ex. of labor work- gardening, cleaning, building, etc.) (ex. of NOT labor work- hardware engineer, software engineer, doctors, etc.) Day means a period of 24 hours of time. (ex. of day- Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, etc.)- these are different names Now, I am going to put it together. Labor Day Does Labor Day mean a day of labor?  Answer: You are partially correct. Labor Day means a da y for the  achievements of American workers. It happens at the first Monday of September. This year (2020) happened yesterday on September 7, 2020!  Want to learn more about Labor Day? Watch this video  HERE .  ~Aarushi Gupta 5th Grade

Feet.. Freeeeeeezing

Hello Everyone! You might tell what I am going to write about in the title of this post. Hmmm. Try guessing before you see the answer-  heads up: the answer is pretty simple to guess and funny) Okay. The answer is my feet are freezing! Every weekday morning, when I start school at 8:15 at my desk all dressed up and when I sit on my desk and put my feet on the floor, they start to freeze. What I do then is put my feet in criss-cross apple sauce position on my chair. Funny Fact: It is pretty hard to do that on my chair because it rolls.  ~Aarushi Gupta   5th Grade
