High Wave

Image
Hello Everyone! I have some sad news today that happened on Monday on Martin Luther King Jr's day.  Story: Tarun Pruthi and his 12-year-old and 8-year-old son from Fremont were at the Cowell Ranch State Beach on January 18 (two days ago). There was a high wave that was around 10-15 ft. tall, that swept Tarun and his 8-year-old. The 12-year-old jumped to save his brother and his dad. Tarun and his 8-year-old survived, but unfortunately, Arunay Pruthi was still in the ocean. The 12-year-old boy was last wearing a white swim top and blue swim shorts. He was 100 yards from the seashore. His father says that Arunay new swimming well, but the wave was so high. There is a search going for Arunay through ships, drones, and planes! His father is disheartened and he will regret this day to the beach his whole life.  Full news at CBS 17. Link: here   ~Aarushi Gupta   5th Grade

A quote from his “I Have a Dream” speech states, “I have a dream that one day little black boys and girls will be holding hands with little white boys and girls.” This means that there would be no segregation and black and white children will be unanimous. He said this with total power and confidence, which made more white people feel guilty, and see how badly black people were treated. Furthermore, Dr. King was held in jail several times, but to him, it didn’t mean it was time to stop. He had persev...

Birds, Nature

Image
Hello Everyone! Have you been exploring nature lately? Well, I have. I've been noticing a lot of blue jays and humming birds in my backyard. How about you? Have you been exploring nature? It is strange that I see a lot of birds because they usually migrate to the south. Maybe because it has been pretty warm this week? Isn't it strange? In January, it is warm? Have you been noticing something strange with nature? What have you been noticing? ~Aarushi Gupta   5th Grade
