What are COVID-19 Contact Tracing Apps?
Contact tracing apps are basically an app on your phone that notifies you that you are in contact with someone who has COVID-19.
Are people using this app?
Around 3% of adult populations in Nevada have downloaded this app. Many people are not aware about this app so they're not downloading it. This app is not giving any benefit because the number of deaths and cases have not yet reduced. In fact, they have increased!
Other States
Other states across the US have launched similar apps, but they are not giving any benefit.
Google and Apple
Androids and iphones have these apps, but Apple and Google have put certain protocols on downloading these apps.
Why people are not adopting these apps?
Personal Data and Information
People are worried that these apps are collecting their personal information and tracking their location.
Lack of Awareness
States do not have enough funds to spend on advertising these apps.
App development was slow because of lack of technical expertise in state's health care departments
